This was a gift for a 4yr old. He loved it, but it would be nice to have SOME directions included as to the alarms, etc
Love it and so does my granddaughter
Love the kindle, hate the storage. I'm constantly deleting games so kids can try new games. Other than that we absolutely love it!!! Battery lasted us a 12 hour drive and kept the kids happy!! Love the freetime and parental controls, just wish there was more storage
Great tablet. Love the case. But the freetime subtraction worthless to us. too many digital books or boring games that my son sis not enjoy. Free time takes up 60% of the space too and you can never remove it. There's not enough space to download any movies. We've has it 2 years and it's worked well enough, but we will be selling it and getting an iPad or something similar that has more room where we can download movies to watch offline.
I bought this for my granddaughter and she loves it. Now the other 2 grandkids want one. It has books, games and so much more. So worth the money.
My granddaughter loves it.
I bought two of these for my kids when traveling primarily for the soft rubber cases which do work well and are easy to hold for small hands however I expected a tablet running android would be an android tablet, these are not. If you want to use the kids profiles (as they are for kids...) you can only use applications & movies downloaded from Amazon.. Even though I was able to load other movies that I own to the tablets they wouldn't play inside the kids profiles so to watch them you have to change to a standard profile which defeats the point of having the system protected from little curious hands. It is possible to get Google play installed on the device with some work but even then the protections (ie not going to the main home screen) are disabled by Amazon and there is no way to change the stock launcher to one that offers more protection. Additionally it comes with a subscription to their service but once that's up I have no idea how much they're going to charge to even be able to use kids features that don't work well to begin with. absolutely would not buy again and not recommend for anyone not wanting to live in Amazon's controlled ecosystem.
We have three of them. And only 1 of the three work. I have had them less than 1 year and 2 of the three has been replaced twice. Even with the replacements they will not hold downloaded content even though I have a 64gb SD card in each one. We get halfway through a road trip and ALL the downloaded videos suddenly do not work without a wif-fi signal. The tablet shows they are downloaded on there but even under the adult profile it will not work without a wi-fi signal even though it did an hour before. These are the most useless pieces of crap. I have ever come across and we don't get our money back for them- they just keep sending us more of the same useless crap over and over. We travel for our job and spend 5-7 days in the car out of the month. This is has been the most frustrating experience.
Runs very slow. Has great features and my child loves it. But it takes forever for things to load and start playing.
After a few years (like 2.5 years) - the device STOPPED charging. It died and could not be revived. After contacting customer support they said it was out of warrantee and all I could do was buy a new one. Devices should last more than a short time. FIND A MORE RELIABLE DEVICE.
Wonderful tablet. My son loves Free Time. They're true to their word about the damage warranty. Definitely worth the money, and I've had just about every kids tablet on the market.
Parents! Are you tired of your phone or tablet being commandeered by drooling sticky handed bandits? Are you done with your apps and photos disappearing after a 40 minute Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Appisode binge? Are you fed up with cracked and damaged phones by no fault of your own? Well, let me tell you about the Fire 7 Kids Edition Tablet! At 1/7th the cost of an iPad and Lifeproof case, you can prevent your phone from becoming a $700 sticky cracked brick. The Fire 7 is your affordable answer. At just under $100, for the 16GB model, you can entertain your child for up to 8 hours. However, our professional toddler testing center has seen times closer to 6 hours in real world testing. Additionally, the charging time is a little slow; taking a few hours to charge fully. However, no child needs to spend 6 straight hours looking at a screen. The weight is lite, and with the case, it can withstand most drops from toddler height. We have only had it for a week, but our team of toddler researchers will continue to test to bring you the best insight to this device.
The Tablet is fine my kids loves it. but the CHARGER very badly design. i just bought new CHARGER and same problem. I hope Amazon will replace my 2 chargers with a better one.
My granddaughter loves it, easy to download the app.
WE purchased the kids addition for our grand daughter. NOT FOR KIDS. It is a a Kindle Fire with a protective case. That's all, hard for kids to operate, apps are expensive, what a disappointment and a waste of $100. The only movie we found out are from Amazon, no movie selection and the unit locks up all the time. Come on Kindle, my phone works better than this.
I bought this for my 4 year old grandson, it is so worth the money he has tones of games to choose from and books. He loves it.
The worry-free guarantee on these devices is FALSE ADVERTISING. My son's kindle has been acting up. We have called Amazon several times over the issues and they refuse to replace his kindle without another update which they tried and failed to complete last time. All I want to do is replace y son's kindle but they are putting me through the ringer. Why offer a warranty if it cannot be used? You would have better service from the Apple Store. Very disappointed in Amazon over this! UPDATE: after writing this review I was called by an apologetic manager who wanted more information about the tablet. After telling him about the various issues I was having he did a "one-time" replacement. I'm leaving my previous comment because it still stands. Worry-free should be just that. I did not appreciate the process, but my issue was resolved.
I brought two of these kindles one in 2016 and one in 2014, the one in 2014 started acting up, not charging and freezing. I called for the no questions asked replacement but there were lots of questions and they wanted to troubleshoot. Just keep this in mind when you buy the product, their no questions asked warranty is false. They want you to troubleshoot on the phone before they even send a replacement, which is somewhat understandable but not what's advertised. I ended up having the 2016 one confused with the 2014 kindle I purchased but the call took about 30 minutes for them to figure that out.
